This time I searched for top 10 thriller movies all times. Surprisingly all reviews hinted about Stephen king’s THE SHINNING. The movie is directed by Stanley kubrick, only after getting consent from Stephen King. This movie is debut of the legendary actor jack nickelson,and then the rest is history. Eventually this movie become inspiration for many other movies, series and TV shows. I ticked this one in my wife list.

In the opening credit, they show a red old fashioned car travel up the hill to the overlook hotel. Jack and average American, depressed over his commitment to his family. Being a writer he finds hardly to survive in the era of Internet. Jack desperately wants his next to be gateway of his future endeavour . He is married to Wendy and got five year old son Danny. Danny has an imaginary friend Tony, who comes to life when Danny sleeps.
Jack reached overlook hotel, trip hastily to the lobby and murmured about the interview to reception. As directed, he hesitantly knocked the door of the office. Ullman the owner of the overlook hotel warmly greeted him for travelling long way for this job. Jack appreciated him, and added he badly needs a solitude location for his next novel. In few more days winter season starts before then, everyone leave to their home, so jack has to be keeper of the overlook hotel till next summer. Until then the hotel remains empty. Nervously Ullman spilled the incident happened last winter, about the grady family. Looming Jack acknowledged with the dead eyes.
( At this point i jack already suffered a mental depression, staying in a haunted hostel no good for him and his family )
After a month he comes back to the hotel with his wife wendy and son Danny. Ullman himself accompany the jack family to give a tour about the entire overlook hotel. Once the hotel is empty, Jack and his family fully took control of hotel. Danny daily routine is cycle through the hotel room, after playing with his mom. Jake with his old fashioned typewriter is occupied with his writing work.As the days passed, there is a gradually change in the behaviour of the jack. In one occasion wendy confronted jack while he is occupied with his writing, ranted and growled angrily at her . Wendy shuddered and hastily peered out of the place.
Danny every time cycle through hotel room, he pass by the room no 237. (I will not decisive about the room 237 that would be spoiler ).In one such occasion, he has happened to see the door of the room no 237 opened. He frightened to see the door opened, previously he tried so many occasions to open the door, but the room remains locked. Wendy heard growling sound of jack, she rushed to help him. He reiterated her about his dream of butchering his wife and son gruesomely. Wendy shivered with fear and see Danny deadly walked towards them. When wend quivered, he remained silently. Then she happened to see a bite mark in his neck and shouted jack angrily. But jack denied it.
Did jack intentionally hunted Danny ? Or the hotel really haunted? What exactly happened in the room no 237 ? Does it anything has to do with Jack behaviour?

Superb! Splendid acting by the jack nickelson, it is because of his acting skill the movie becoes what it has to be today. Before the movie begin, many critized him for his role but he gives a stern reply in delivering one of the finest act.
