V1 MURDER CASE
Movie review: This Friday along with other four movies, v1 murder case has an ample screen among its release and has an unique screenplay. It is one of new of its kind, there after tamil audiences can expect few more in this genre. This movie involves around murder investigation and explore foreignsic department, which is new to audiences.
From the first look poster to the trailer release, this movie kept audiences intriguing, which is the first success of the movie. This film open’s with the murder of gayathiri in a brutal way and then title card, from the first 10 min of the movie, the film maker set the tone of the movie. Lijesh is live-in relationship is taken into custody and questioned in the interrogation room by Ram Arun,works in foreignsic department as a full time teacher has an eyesight problem after 6pm , due to his past trauma(which is he explains in the later half of the movie) and vishnupriya, unlike his co-worker she works in the same department as a field agent. Every relation goes through a bad phase, same as lijesh and gayathiri fails to handle such situation, puts them in a troublesome relationships. Ram arun and vishnupriya after the interrogation decide to release Lijesh. Then few more days , Lijesh by injecting drugs decided to put an end to his guilt, which make the entire department to standstill.There on the investigation continues..,
The positive aspect of the movie is concept and its screenplay, as the film doesnt has any star value, no unnecessary songs, no stupid action. The producer should be appreciated for his bold move and believing in the concept, such kind of script should be supported .Ram Arun,welcome to kollywood fits his role perfectly as an foreignsic agent, there are times the audience will have strong connection to him. His dialogue delivery and the way he conduct the investigation, makes audience think him as an foreignsic agent in real life too. Vishnupriya pillai has good screen space compared to the regular heroines( merely used for 2 songs and a few scenes),acted well and there some scenes where her physical ability is tested well. Hope, there are some director will give opportunity and utilize her talent. The murder mystery film travel from crime, murder, live-in relation problems to paedophile gives the audience in the edge of the seat thriller. Lijesh has few scenes, but carried the emotion of lover boy image perfectly.
Director (paval navageetham,acted with danush in vada Chennai) has not compromised in anything, he strictly stick to his script, surely a promising director for kollywood. The director has done detailed study about the foreignsic department, especially in a scene where the protagonist explain the mind of killer in the class. Screenplay is the core competency, till the film ends it hook up the audiences (not a single minute, audience get bored).Music plays an important in such crime thriller, special mention to music director (I don’t know his name) for keeping phase throughout the movie. The work of cinematographer is very real and good in a scene, where the ram arun enters into imaginary house filled with dark, candle, and smoke captured brilliantly. Ruban, Editor knows the pulse of the audience cuts the run time for 2 hours only, which is good factor. With no kuthu songs, no punch dialogues producer should be applauded for selecting this kind of script. Audience after watching the movie gets completely satisfied. Mindset of the audiences has changed from watching commercial movie to this,implies any new attempt is welcome as long as it has strong screenplay and doesn’t require a star value.
Verdict: The theme of the film is simple ( as thousand film released had the same idea), but what the difference is its presentation and the engaging factor(x-factor). This crime thriller movie runs by the mere word of mouth,If it there for one more week,then it will enter into safe zone. Definitely watchable along with the family member.
